In the Pega Product Composer System for Healthcare application, the product template contains definitions for various components of an insurance product, including base rules and guardrails that serve as a model for insurance product creation. During product template creation, the manager selects one or more provider networks and assignment of benefits for each network. The manager can also include these product options in the template:
- Coverage levels
- Eligibility rules
- The range of values for cost shares
The use of the product template facilitates the efficient building of products. Products inherit the values defined in the product template for networks, benefits, and groupers.
